Vorarlberg Camping Guide: Nenzing, Alpine Walks & Feldkirch

This Vorarlberg camping guide combines a Nenzing camping base, mountain scenery and the cultural streets of Feldkirch. Use the authorized base below for a regional stay with time for nature, local food and culture. All prices are in euros; research and published tariffs were checked on 16 October 2026.

Vorarlberg camping guide: nature and routes

The Nenzinger Himmel is a mountain excursion rather than a quick stroll from the campsite. Official tourism information describes access on foot, around four hours from Nenzing, or by a hiking shuttle. Check reservations, seasonal operation and the return service before booking a mountain day. For a gentler stay, choose signed local paths around Nenzing and keep the higher terrain for a suitable weather window.

Authorized camping and checked tariffs

Alpencamping Nenzing’s summer 2026 tariff lists the Comfort K pitch, including two people, at €44–€69.50 across seasons A–E. This is a base range, not an all-inclusive quote or a confirmed rate for today. The table separately lists a €2.90 guest fee from age 14, a €3.80 environmental charge per pitch, a €4.20 electricity flat rate for 4 kWh and €1 per additional kWh. It also lists a €3 short-stay supplement for stays under four nights. Confirm the date band, billing basis of each supplement, winter tariff and full written total before booking; the English table contains a repeated season label in the guest-fee row.

Confirm the complete charge for your party, equipment and dates before booking. Check reception times, pitch dimensions, seasonal services and any minimum stay. Published examples do not guarantee availability.

Free overnight camping

No specific free authorized overnight site has been verified for this itinerary. Use the established campsite, or confirm permission with the relevant local authority and landowner before choosing another location. A scenic parking area or picnic site does not by itself establish permission to camp.

Restaurant and local food

Restaurant Garfrenga is on site at Alpencamping Nenzing. Its regional cooking provides a straightforward introduction to Austrian food, and the restaurant also publishes its menu online. Check opening days and reserve when the site is busy; restaurant and wellness spending should be budgeted separately from the pitch.

Culture beyond the campsite

Visit the Schattenburg Museum in Feldkirch for local history in a castle setting. Its rooms offer a useful indoor counterpoint to a mountain day. Combine the museum with a walk through Feldkirch’s historic centre, checking seasonal visiting hours directly before departure.

Practical itinerary and access

Nenzing to Feldkirch is a separate local excursion of roughly 20 km, often around 20–30 minutes by car; these are approximate planning figures. Allow a full day for a mountain outing when approach and shuttle times are included. Reserve at least one flexible day for weather. Bring layers, proper walking footwear and enough water, and confirm campsite arrival times and the current season’s services.

Bring waterproof clothing, suitable walking shoes, water, warm bedding, a torch and an offline route map. Check weather and local notices before a longer outing. Use designated waste and wastewater facilities, respect quiet hours and follow current fire restrictions.
