Sicily Camping Guide: Menfi Beaches and Selinunte

Sicily camping offers a rewarding mix of beach days and major cultural sites. This itinerary uses Lido Fiori near Menfi as a base, with a separate outing to the Selinunte area.

Build your route with the Italy camping guide and regional directory.

Sicily camping: nature and outdoor visits

Explore Menfi’s coast through established beach approaches. The Belice Valley guide introduces the coast and river-mouth nature reserve. Respect barriers around dunes and nesting areas and choose a short walk in summer heat.

Established camping and published rates

Camping La Palma, Via delle Palme 29, Lido Fiori, Menfi, publishes a 2026 tariff. Its spring/autumn offer for 20 March–23 April and 26 October–30 November lists two adults, small tent and car at €22 daily, or two adults and camper with electricity at €25. A three-night minimum applies; tourist tax is extra. The ordinary low-season components include €7 per adult, €7 small tent, €4 car and €5 power, but weekday/weekend wording needs confirmation. Ask for your exact nightly total, sanitary facilities, vehicle servicing and opening dates.

Free camping and permission

No specific free overnight campsite was verified for this itinerary. Use the established paid option above or confirm a designated alternative with its manager and local authorities. A beach, picnic spot, trailhead or ordinary car park is not proof of camping permission. Check local signs, protected-area rules and vehicle restrictions before stopping.

Culture and heritage

Plan a separate half-day or longer for Selinunte’s archaeological landscape. Check the park’s current admission and transport arrangements and carry water for exposed outdoor ground.

Where to eat

Da Vittorio at Porto Palo di Menfi is a seaside restaurant centred on local seafood. Confirm its opening dates, current menu and reservations before planning the drive.

Practical Sicily camping information

Lido Fiori to the Selinunte area is approximately 20–30 km and 30–40 minutes by car, depending on the entrance and route. Spring and autumn suit archaeology and walking; confirm that your dates fit the camping season. Bring sun protection, drinking water and shoes suitable for sandy and uneven ground.

A relaxed two-night plan

Arrive with enough daylight to check the pitch and facilities. Keep the first evening close to camp, then spend the full day on coastal nature and ancient temples. Leave room for meals, weather changes and local transfers. Before departure, dispose of rubbish and wastewater in the proper facilities and confirm your next site’s arrival arrangements.

Source and tariff check: 16 October 2026. Published prices are reference checks, not live booking quotes or proof of availability. The quoted year and dates matter; do not carry a 2026 price into a later season. Confirm taxes, extras, services and the full amount directly with the operator. Distances and times are approximate planning estimates.
