The Rhinowalk 50–70L tail bag offers expandable rear storage for motorcycle touring and camping. This review covers the black Mechanic Series MJX2003 bag associated with Amazon ASIN B0DWSSTDDT. Its standard capacity is about 50L, increasing to about 70L when expanded.
Buyer compatibility check: Buyers must independently verify compatibility with their exact vehicle make, model, year and configuration, including racks, accessories and modifications. Confirm adequate support beneath the bag, suitable anchor points, load limits and safe clearance from hot and moving components.

Rhinowalk 50–70L tail bag: specifications
The manufacturer lists the following approximate figures for the MJX2003BK. Use them as a starting point, then confirm the current Amazon package and actual fit before purchase.
| Specification | Manufacturer information |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 50L standard; 70L expanded |
| Dimensions | 56 × 29 × 31 cm; approximately 41 cm high when expanded |
| Weight | 3,790 g, approximately 3.79 kg |
| Fabric | 1680D polyester |
| Included equipment | One bag, rain cover, shoulder strap, four mounting straps and two cam-buckle straps |
Amazon’s bullet points list different dimensions and an 8.5 lb weight. We use the manufacturer’s figures above; ask the seller to clarify the discrepancy if your available space or weight allowance is tight.
Expansion and organization
Listed features include divided storage, mesh pockets, a laptop compartment and MOLLE attachment areas. The manufacturer describes the laptop space as suitable for devices up to approximately 14 inches. Check the actual device dimensions rather than relying on screen size alone.
Expandable luggage can be useful when your packing list changes during a trip. However, opening the expansion sections also changes the loaded shape. Recheck support, restraint tension and clearance whenever you alter the bag’s size.
Plan around your own equipment. Long tent poles or bulky winter insulation may determine fit before the total liter capacity does. Keep frequently needed items accessible so a roadside stop does not require unpacking everything.
Rain cover versus a waterproof body
Although Amazon’s title uses waterproof wording, the official product page says the polyester body is not fully waterproof and supplies a separate rain cover. Use that cover as instructed before prolonged rain. We have not independently tested either the bag or the cover.
Do not assume every pocket has equal protection, and do not treat this bag as suitable for immersion. Sensitive electronics and documents need protection appropriate to the expected exposure. A dedicated laptop compartment does not establish crash or vibration protection.
Mounting and carrying the load
The manufacturer describes a four-point mounting arrangement and several off-bike carry modes. The motorcycle still needs a suitable support area and secure strap routing. A sissy bar mentioned in a listing does not automatically provide all the support or attachment points required.
Include the bag’s own weight when calculating the total load. Additional volume does not increase the permitted weight of the motorcycle, rear rack or mounting hardware. Follow every applicable limit and keep loose straps away from the exhaust, wheel, chain and suspension.
Also check that the installation leaves lights, the license plate and passenger space unobstructed. Inspect the straps and fastenings before departure, then recheck them after an initial short ride and at stops.
Who should consider the Rhinowalk 50–70L tail bag?
Consider this model if you want organized, expandable storage and have enough support area for the intended load. The tradeoffs include its empty weight, the larger expanded profile and the need to manage a separate rain cover.
