Murcia Camping Guide: Costa Cálida, Forests & Nature Routes

Murcia camping guide. Murcia is both a community and a single province. Choose Águilas for the southwestern coast, El Berro for Sierra Espuña woodland, or a separate eastern-coast base for Calblanque and the Mar Menor. The region’s dry conditions make shade and drinking-water planning central to a comfortable trip.

Plan your wider route with our Spain camping guide. This guide covers the region by province. Camping permissions, seasonal access and booking conditions differ by destination.

Murcia

Natural places and towns: Águilas provides beaches and coastal scenery. Sierra Espuña and El Berro suit forest and mountain walks. Calblanque, San Pedro del Pinatar’s salt flats and Calasparra’s river landscapes are separate itineraries. Do not expect permanent waterfall flows on every dry-season route.

Camping inside the destination: Use designated campgrounds rather than beaches, dunes or forest recreation areas. Camping Sierra Espuña is an officially listed El Berro base; check the actual route and protected-area restrictions before setting out.

Nearby free camping: No unrestricted, free public tent campsite was verified for this itinerary. A picnic area or beach car park is not permission to camp. Ask the municipality and protected-area office about authorized sites, permits and maximum stay before choosing a free overnight stop.

Paid camping: Camping Bellavista in Águilas publishes 2026 low-season prices including two people, a motorhome or car plus tent/caravan, and the stated 10A electricity allowance: €28.50 for one night, €26 per night for 2–7 nights, and lower rates for longer stays. The allowance is 5 kWh per day, with excess at €0.65/kWh. Low season excludes named holidays. Its stated 2026 opening excludes July and August. Camping Sierra Espuña is an inland alternative with caravanning, cabins and pool; request current tent acceptance and pitch pricing.

Restaurants: Bellavista’s facilities page identifies a bar-restaurant 50 m away; ask reception for its current name, menu and hours. For El Berro, Camping Sierra Espuña’s local information lists Restaurante Sierra Espuña and La Parra, with weekend service to be confirmed.

Museums and cultural stops: Águilas’ castle and museums complement a coastal base. Cartagena’s Roman Theatre Museum and underwater archaeology museum or Murcia’s museums require separate city trips.

Practical information: Spring, autumn and mild winter days suit lower walks; mountains need a weather check. Bellavista is on the Vera road at km 3; estimate 3–5 km and 10–15 minutes to Águilas centre. Sierra Espuña and Calblanque are separate drives and need different bases for daily walking. Carry sun protection, ample water, boots and layers; check seasonal beach-road access and bathing conditions.

Reservations, prices and equipment

Information checked on October 13, 2026. Published price examples below describe the stated package, not a guaranteed nightly quote. Where a current fixed tariff could not be verified, request a dated quote for your party, tent or vehicle, electricity and pets. Confirm opening dates, vehicle length, pitch access and cancellation terms directly before travel.

Carry a weatherproof tent, suitable sleeping bag and insulated pad, headlamp, first-aid kit, offline map, drinking water and layers. Match footwear and sun protection to your route. Mountain and coastal weather can differ sharply on the same trip.
