The national tourism portal lists the camp, but current rates, tent acceptance and motorhome facilities were not verified. Obtain an operator quote and exact location.

Ichan-Kala is the main cultural anchor, with Juma Mosque, palaces and museum collections. Allow a full heritage day so fortress excursions do not reduce Khiva to a rushed evening stop.

Practical planning

Spring and autumn generally offer more comfortable outdoor planning than peak summer. Carry sun protection and water on exposed sites. Obtain actual driving distances from your chosen accommodation to each fortress; some journeys cross the Amu Darya and are substantially longer than a straight-line map suggests. Avoid climbing unstable walls.

For a car or motorhome, ask your host to confirm the access road, vehicle length limits, overnight parking permission, drinking water and waste disposal.
