Faetano Camping Guide: Marano Valley & Campsites

Faetano camping works well as a quiet day trip from an established San Marino campsite. Choose this castello for village heritage and the Marano landscape, then return to a reserved pitch rather than relying on informal overnight parking.

Nature: the Marano valley

Visit San Marino highlights Faetano for the River Marano and its sports-fishing lake. The wider Marano River Park extends into Coriano, Italy, so check the location of your chosen entrance before setting off. Its riverside environment supports trees such as poplars and willows, with opportunities for watching birds.

Use the official Marano River Park description to distinguish the wider park from the village itself. Free park entry does not include camping permission. A fishing lake is not a verified swimming area; ask the operator about fishing permits and access.

Village culture

The church and Casa del Castello make a compact cultural stop. Faetano joined the Republic in 1463. Consult the official castelli guide for the village background. Plan a relaxed walk through the centre, allowing time to enjoy the contrast between the settlement and its surrounding countryside.

Faetano camping: where to stay

Centro Vacanze San Marino, Strada di San Michele 50, Cailungo, Borgo Maggiore, provides pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes. It is outside Faetano. Confirm pitch dimensions and arrival arrangements when booking.

The operator’s 2026 campsite tariff states a €22 daily minimum for one person, excluding service and tourist taxes. Holiday and event supplements may apply; request the full price for your party.

Free camping and overnight restrictions

No authorized free tent pitch or free motorhome overnight site has been verified for this itinerary. Do not treat a picnic area, fishing access or public car park as permission to stay overnight. If a landowner offers a place, also confirm any applicable local requirements before setting up.

Restaurant at the camping base

Ristorante Garden, Strada di San Michele 50, Borgo Maggiore, serves Italian and Romagna dishes and pizza. This is a return-to-base option rather than a restaurant in Faetano. Check opening times before leaving the campsite.

A practical half-day plan

Begin with the village, then choose a manageable riverside walk after checking access and weather. Carry drinking water, a waterproof layer and sturdy shoes. Keep away from swollen streams after rain. Spring and autumn can suit walking; in summer, use the cooler morning hours.

For planning only, allow roughly 20–30 minutes by car from Cailungo to Faetano village; the exact route, traffic and chosen park entrance change the journey. Check navigation on departure and allow extra time in a large motorhome. Ask reception about public transport if you are travelling without a car.
