Dzūkija camping combines southern Lithuania’s wooded scenery with the easy walking and cultural stops of Druskininkai. The town is a useful base if you want a serviced campsite and outdoor time without driving for every meal.

Dzūkija camping: nature and outdoor visits
Walk in K. Dineika Wellness Park, next to the Druskininkai campsite, then extend the day with town green spaces and the Lake Druskonis area. Allow one to two hours for a gentle park outing. Check any paid wellness facilities separately; a park walk does not include a sauna session.
Established camping and published rates
Druskininkai Campsite, Gardino g. 3A, has tent and motorhome pitches, shared showers, toilets and a communal kitchen. The official tariff approved on 29 April 2026 lists a tent place at €10 plus €8 per adult per night. Two adults with one tent total €26, plus the stated €2 adult nightly resort fee each: €30 overall. A camper or caravan with one or two people and connections is €30, plus applicable resort fees. The published season is 1 May–30 September. The operator accepts off-season motorhome enquiries, but confirm available facilities and arrangements first.
Free camping and permission
Ilgis Lake free campsite at Kareivonys is identified by Lazdijai’s official tourism centre, about 2.5 km west of Kapčiamiestis. It lists shelters, tables and toilets. This is a separate rural alternative, not an adjacent overflow pitch for Druskininkai. No stay limit, drinking-water supply, motorhome service or reservation procedure was verified; confirm these with local tourism staff and follow on-site signs before staying.
Culture and local heritage
The Druskininkai City Museum in Villa Linksma introduces the resort’s history. It makes a useful rainy-weather visit; check current exhibitions and opening days directly.
Where to eat
Etno Dvaras, M. K. Čiurlionio g. 55 beside Lake Druskonis, serves Lithuanian cuisine. Check the menu and reserve for busy evenings; this is a town dining stop rather than a campsite meal package.
Practical Dzūkija camping information
The operator places the campsite near the town’s parks and describes central attractions as approximately a ten-minute walk; actual times depend on your chosen stop. Vilnius to Druskininkai is roughly 130 km and around two hours by car as a planning estimate. For tent stays, use the published May–September season and bring warm bedding, waterproof layers, insect repellent and a headlamp. Use proper wastewater facilities and confirm the pitch surface if travelling with a heavy vehicle.
A relaxed two-night stay
Arrive early enough to check your pitch and facilities in daylight. Keep the first evening close to camp, then devote the full day to parks, forest scenery and resort history. Save a museum or café visit for wet weather and leave time for meals and local transfers. Before moving on, refill water where permitted, dispose of waste correctly and check the next site’s arrival arrangements.
Source and tariff check: 16 October 2026. These are published source checks rather than live booking quotes. An undated price has no confirmed validity year. Confirm the full amount, operating dates, access and facilities directly with the operator before paying. Distances and driving times are approximate planning estimates.
