Split Region Camping Guide, Croatia: Nature and Travel Tips

Split Region camping provides a starting point for exploring Stobreč, Split and Marjan. This guide focuses on one base and realistic nearby outings, with accommodation checks, nature, culture and food suggestions.

Checked October 16, 2026. Confirm current operation, the exact season and the complete price directly before booking. Older tariffs are clearly identified below.

Split Region camping: choose your overnight base

Camping Stobreč Split: The operator advertises year-round camping, with numbered pitch categories offering 16A electricity, water and drainage. It also distinguishes simpler unnumbered camping spots without those connections. Confirm the product before booking; year-round operation does not mean every pool, restaurant or activity runs all year.

Camping prices and reservations

The 2026 price page directs visitors to a date-based calculation rather than a fixed public numerical table. It explains the total as pitch or spot charge plus people, residence tax and registration. Obtain a dated total for your exact category and party. Do not compare a connected pitch with a basic spot as if they offered identical services. Consult the operator or tourism listing.

Before paying, confirm cancellation terms, arrival instructions and vehicle dimensions. Ask separately about drinking-water filling, waste disposal and the capacity of the electricity connection. A facility shown for a prepared mobile home is not automatically available on every touring pitch.

Nature and cultural visits

Marjan gives Split a park-forest outing with viewpoints and walking routes. Plan it separately from a long arrival drive, and check the actual trail, heat and access instructions. A city viewpoint and a more demanding walk require different time and footwear. Nature and visitor information.

The Split tourism portal provides information on Diocletian’s Palace and the historic city. Choose the specific museum or ticketed area you want to visit rather than assuming one admission covers the entire living old town. Keep time for the approach, breaks and return transport. Cultural visitor information.

Where to eat

Restaurant–pizzeria Horus is inside the campsite and offers Dalmatian, Mediterranean fish and meat dishes alongside pizza and pasta. Confirm seasonal service and your preferred meal time. The restaurant reservation is separate from the overnight pitch. Dining information.

Distances and a sensible day plan

Stobreč to central Split is broadly 8–12 km and 20–45 minutes each way as a planning estimate. Traffic and parking can add substantially. Ask the campsite about current public transport rather than trying to drive a large motorhome into the historic centre.

Use arrival day for setting up and a local walk. On the next day, choose one main outing and leave room for meals and the return journey. Add a museum only if its hours fit comfortably with your outdoor plans.

Free camping and overnight permissions

No authorised free overnight camping location was verified for this itinerary. Choose a registered campsite or an expressly designated camper stop, and confirm fees, registration and permitted stays with its host. Day parking, restaurant parking and a protected-area entry ticket do not establish overnight camping permission.

Season and equipment

Match your travel dates to confirmed campsite opening dates. Spring and autumn may suit lower-level walks; summer outings need careful heat planning. Carry water, sun protection, rain layers, suitable shoes and first-aid supplies. Check wind and sea conditions for coastal activities, and follow local fire and cooking restrictions.
