Andorra la Vella Camping Guide: Trails, Nature & Culture

Natural places: Rec del Solà and the Enclar area

Andorra la Vella camping combines a serviced town base with nearby walking. Choose Rec del Solà for views over the capital and a lower-level outing; explore the Enclar area through an appropriate marked route when conditions allow.

The municipal walking directory helps separate easier urban-edge walks from mountain excursions. Andorra is landlocked: the nature focus here is forests, rivers and mountain scenery rather than coastal beaches.

Camping inside the destination

Camping Valira is an established campsite in the capital area, advertised about 1 km from the centre and open year-round. Staying there allows a convenient nature-and-city itinerary; it does not grant permission to camp on the surrounding paths.

The operator advertises serviced pitches, a heated pool and laundry. Confirm toilets, showers, drinking water, the pitch’s electrical connection, car access and vehicle disposal for your actual booking. Pool and other facilities can have their own conditions.

Nearby free camping

No free serviced tent site was verified near the capital walks. Valira’s “zona acampada lliure” has listed prices: the word “lliure” should not be translated into a promise of zero cost.

For a specific Madriu trek, the valley manager’s guidance describes parish-dependent camping rules. Obtain clarification of the exact place, duration and group size; do not apply a park exception to city car parks or all countryside in Andorra.

The displayed 2026 tariff lists an adult at €8.55 and tent plus car, or camper/motorhome, at €19.10. Two adults plus tent and car therefore total €36.20 before electricity and tourist tax. The page also lists a tent-only charge of €9.10. Confirm which high/low-season column applies to your dates.

Electricity is listed at €4 for 3 amps, €6.50 for 6 amps and €9 for 10 amps. The operator states tourist tax of €1.57 per eligible guest/night for the first seven nights, with under-16s exempt. Its 2026 rates are stated valid through December 31; obtain the confirmed total and booking conditions.

Restaurants, museums and heritage

Can Manel at Plaça Príncep Benlloch 5 offers traditional mountain cooking. The operator lists closures on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; verify the actual day and reserve ahead. The historic-centre location works well with a town afternoon.

Combine Casa de la Vall and the old quarter with an exhibition or museum visit. Take a shorter walk on a culture day rather than pairing a long mountain hike with several timed admissions. Check opening hours and reservations separately.

Practical information

From Valira, central town stops are roughly 1–2 km / 15–30 minutes on foot, depending on the route. An Enclar access outing can involve roughly 2–5 km / 5–15 minutes by car followed by walking. Rec del Solà has several access points: choose the signed entrance and allow for uphill streets.

Spring through autumn often suits the lower walks, subject to ice and weather. Winter availability at the campsite does not make high trails suitable for ordinary hiking. Carry a forecast-matched sleeping system, rain protection, water and a headlamp; verify winter road requirements with your vehicle provider.

Reviewed October 13, 2026. Distances and driving times are approximate planning estimates. Confirm the actual route, current permissions, operating dates and the full payable tariff with the authority or operator.
