STAPLL Tack Strap Review: 30-Inch Bungees for Moto Gear

This STAPLL Tack Strap review examines the orange 30-inch two-pack for motorcycle travel and camping equipment. These are elastic bungee-style restraints with hooks, not ratchet straps. Their suitability depends on the load, attachment points and manufacturer instructions, rather than the word non-slip alone.

Buyer compatibility check: Independently verify compatibility with your exact vehicle make, model, year and configuration, including racks, accessories and modifications. Confirm suitable anchors, hook engagement, cargo support, clearances and every load limit. We have not confirmed this product for a particular motorcycle.

STAPLL Tack Strap review: listed features

Amazon identifies ASIN B0BXVNDWPH as the orange two-pack. The listing describes a four-way flat design, 30-inch cords with hooks and an adjustable NBR rubber grip pad. It also advertises nylon construction and UV resistance. We have not independently tested those performance claims.

What the grip pad can and cannot establish

The rubber pad is intended to help position the cords and reduce movement against the equipment. However, this design feature does not prove that a particular bag will remain secured during travel. We have not tested sliding, vibration or retention on a motorcycle.

First, check whether the bag has suitable restraint locations. Also inspect the rack or other approved anchors. Do not attach hooks to a convenient-looking piece of trim without establishing that it is intended for the load.

Length and stretch are separate questions

A nominal 30-inch length is not a guarantee that the restraint will fit your loaded arrangement. Ask how the manufacturer measures that length and how adjustment affects the permitted working range. Measure the intended routing before buying.

STAPLL’s bungee safety page says not to extend cords beyond 50% above their unstretched length. Follow the current instructions for the exact product; do not substitute a retailer’s maximum-length claim. If the intended routing requires excessive stretch, choose another suitable restraint.

Load figures need clarification

Retailer tables give conflicting working-load figures for Tack Strap products. We have therefore not adopted a number as a verified rating for this orange ASIN. Ask STAPLL for the applicable working load and any motorcycle-use restrictions.

Also distinguish breaking strength from working load. Neither a stronger-sounding marketing phrase nor two restraints in a package establishes an allowable cargo weight. Do not add ratings together to invent a capacity for your setup.

Handling and inspection

STAPLL warns that stretched cords can recoil forcefully. Its guidance calls for protective eyewear, secure hook engagement, keeping the face and vulnerable body parts away, and not using worn hooks or cords. Keep children away while handling the restraints.

Before travel, inspect the complete arrangement following the vehicle, bag and restraint instructions. Keep cords and loose material clear of wheels, chain, exhaust and controls. Also check that the luggage does not hide lights or the plate.

If instructions do not establish suitability for your intended road load, use a documented restraint system instead. Do not use these bungees to secure the motorcycle itself to a trailer based only on general marketing references to motorcycles.

STAPLL Tack Strap review: purchase assessment

The flat design and movable pad are features worth examining for compatible equipment. However, an unresolved working-load rating limits what we can recommend for motorcycle luggage. Confirm the exact application before relying on the product.
