This Palau camping guide links all sixteen state introductions, covering selected nature, cultural visits, food planning and overnight enquiries. It distinguishes tourism-listed camping products from supplied rooms and places where no current authorized pitch was verified. Each state article provides a return link to this directory.

Where camping has been advertised
The Koror guide links a tourism-listed operator offering Rock Islands camping expeditions. Aimeliik covers Ngerchebal, whose opening announcement explicitly includes camping and basic bathroom facilities. Ngaraard identifies Dichem’s private-property camping enquiry, while Peleliu links an operator that lists customized camping activities.
These are starting points for an actual reservation, not guarantees of availability for any date. Confirm the exact site, receiving host, state permission, guide, shelter, sanitation and drinking water. For other states, the articles explicitly say when no current tent product or camping tariff was established.
Permit prices are not overnight prices
The official traveller guidance lists a five-day Rock Islands permit at US$50 and a five-day Jellyfish Lake-inclusive permit at US$100. Reconfirm current conditions with Koror State or an authorized operator. These amounts are access-permit references, not tent-pitch charges.
A permit does not grant unrestricted entry to every island, cave, lake or protected area, and does not by itself establish where you may sleep. The operator must specify the authorized overnight location and any additional arrangements.
How to interpret published camping offers
Ngaraard’s article explains Dichem’s US$500 per-day Camping or Function Event listing. It is not presented as an individual nightly pitch fee. Ask about the group, duration, facilities and complete total for your actual booking.
The Koror article also identifies Swings’ Northern Private Island one-night package at US$250 per person with a minimum of four. The page does not identify the precise state or full inclusions, so obtain those details directly rather than assuming a Rock Islands itinerary. The quote must specify permits, meals, equipment and transfers.
Free camping, vehicles and stay limits
No nationwide free-camping network or uniform maximum stay was verified. Obtain express permission for the exact overnight site from the responsible landowner, host and relevant manager. A beach park, reserve entrance or community visit does not supply that permission.
No serviced motorhome pitch is inferred from a road, hotel car park or boat dock. Confirm tent acceptance and amenities individually. Where no numeric stay limit was established, ask the responsible host rather than assuming an unlimited stay.
Dated travel and activity checks
Research checked October 28, 2026. Read the UK Palau safety guidance before departure. It identifies unexploded wartime ordnance, particularly on Peleliu and Angaur, and advises care on rural roads and during water activities.
Use local guides and approved routes; do not handle suspected wartime objects or enter caves and overgrown battle areas independently. Confirm operator credentials and suitable safety equipment for marine activities. Palau prohibits reef-toxic sunscreen, so check current permitted products before packing.
Seasons and route planning
The advisory describes higher rainfall from April to November, especially July and August. Select dates using current local forecasts and the operator’s assessment rather than assuming a general season keeps every road or sea route open.
Babeldaob outings need specific road destinations, trailheads and return transport. Kayangel, Peleliu and Angaur require current marine or air arrangements. Sonsorol and Hatohobei are remote vessel-based enquiries, not routine extensions of a Koror day trip.
Food, culture and supplies
Koror, Airai and Peleliu articles provide named dining enquiries where established. Elsewhere, confirm hosted meals or packed food before leaving the hub. A town restaurant is not catering at a remote reserve, and a hotel cafe does not establish camper access to its facilities.
Ask before entering community meeting places or photographing people and cultural objects. Protected habitats and sacred places may have additional restrictions. A conservation designation is a reason to resolve permitted activity, not a claim of unrestricted recreation.
Make the overnight arrangement explicit
Ask the state office and actual operator to confirm who receives you, where you sleep, what equipment is supplied, the complete dated price and how you return. Confirm potable water, cooking permission, waste removal, communications and weather alternatives.
Use the source links in the individual state articles for named leads and limitations. Where a route is under development, a rate is only a reference or camping has not been verified, the guide says so rather than presenting an unconfirmed stay as bookable.
