This Zimbabwe camping guide links all ten provinces, including metropolitan Harare and Bulawayo. It brings together designated camping enquiries, nature and heritage visits, food planning and dated price checks. These are provincial introductions rather than an exhaustive directory of every town or a promise of a verified campsite in every settlement.
Zimbabwe camping: all ten provinces
ZimStat’s provincial framework identifies the ten provinces used here. Each card opens a separate article with its own sources and return link. Metropolitan boundaries matter: a nearby park is not automatically inside Harare or Bulawayo.

Travel advice checked October 28, 2026
Read the UK Zimbabwe advisory, including current entry, health and regional guidance. The safety page addresses roads, wildlife activities, power and water disruption and payment conditions. Confirm these for the actual route and accommodation before departure.
Arrange appropriate insurance and emergency support for the activities actually booked. A campground reservation does not establish the suitability of every road, trail, river excursion or wildlife encounter.
Designated products and reservations
Use ZimParks reservations for the actual park, dates and guest category. Standard camping, bush camps, overnight picnic sites, furnished tents and lodges have different equipment and facility arrangements. Confirm the specific unit and current services before comparing prices.
The linked guides also identify manager sources for Gosho Park, Gonarezhou and Big Cave. Where a complete current metropolitan or provincial pitch could not be verified, the article says so. No campground is invented to fill a gap in regional coverage.
Prices and complete quotations
The Matabeleland South article identifies Big Cave’s directly published 2026 per-person camping rate and its stated facilities. Gonarezhou’s manager distinguishes bush, transit and developed sites with different minimum-charge and service arrangements. A group minimum must not be read as a universal per-person nightly price.
No nationwide current campsite tariff is guaranteed by this package. Ask for a dated full quote separating accommodation, people, vehicle, conservation or entry, equipment, meals, guides, transfers and taxes. Older downloadable schedules and tourism promotions should not override the actual applicable booking conditions.
Free camping and vehicles
No nationwide entitlement to wild camp or verified free stop in each province was established. Obtain land-manager permission and required conservation authorization, including maximum stay and conduct rules. Beaches, riverbanks, rock shelters, roadsides and archaeological sites are not automatic overnight locations.
Confirm caravans and motorhomes separately from ordinary car entry. Stand dimensions, final roads, power, water, toilets and waste services are specific to the booked site. A parking space does not establish overnight permission.
Heritage, restaurants and supplies
NMMZ and municipal sources provide museum and heritage enquiries in the local guides. Confirm present opening and admission with the actual custodian. Homes, religious spaces, community visits and rock art require consent and respectful conduct; no unscheduled performance is promised.
Named direct food sources include Amanzi in Harare and Big Cave’s campsite bar and advance-order braai supplies. These have different locations and services. Other guides explain where a current camp-side menu was not established. Ask about dietary needs, safe water, food storage and self-catering equipment before remote stays.
Seasons, journeys and equipment
Use the booked stand, entrance, trailhead or institution for route and time estimates. City traffic, park-road speeds, seasonal rain and mountain conditions can affect separate legs differently. Ask the responsible manager for current access and plan daylight arrival.
Bring the equipment and planned water required by the actual product, and establish communications and emergency arrangements for remote activities. Follow current wildlife, fire and heritage-protection rules. Equipment does not replace permission, a suitable guide or current official travel information.
