Petra camping is best researched through a managed camp outside the archaeological monuments. This guide uses Seven Wonders Bedouin Camp in Little Petra as a documented supplied-tent lead and separates its hospitality from Petra entry, guided walks and transport. A bed in a camp is not a right to sleep inside the heritage site.

Official availability notice
Before travelling or reserving, investigate availability on the official Jordan tourism portal and the selected reserve or operator’s official page. Confirm whether the place is open, whether your overnight type is available, and what permits, seasonal or security restrictions apply. A place described here is not a confirmation of current access.
Coverage: Maan.
Nature and outdoor visits
The official Petra destination guide introduces a rugged landscape and archaeological walks. Choose a route within the site’s current rules and your physical ability. Avoid turning a map of the surrounding hills into an unapproved overnight route.
Petra camping: documented overnight options
Seven Wonders Bedouin Camp’s own site describes furnished tent accommodation in Little Petra, comfortable beds, hot showers and food. Confirm the exact tent, shared or private facilities, heating and transfers. No personal-tent pitch, motorhome hookup or waste-disposal service was verified.
Camping prices, rooms and booking totals
The operator’s published rate page displays JOD 55 per night for two adults in a double or twin tent with breakfast, and JOD 82.50 for two adults and two children in a family quadruple. It defines a child as eleven or under. These are website reference prices checked on the editorial date; reconfirm dates, taxes, dinner and availability before payment.
Food and dining
The camp documents traditional Bedouin meals and tea. Ask which evening meal is available, its current charge and advance-order requirements. Confirm vegetarian options or allergies directly. A tent’s breakfast inclusion should not be expanded into an assumed full-board package or admission to Petra.
Museums, heritage and local culture
The Petra Museum’s official visiting information provides a cultural complement to the archaeological park. Verify current hours and group requirements. Camp hospitality, museum access and the archaeological park ticket are separate arrangements, and historic caves should not be treated as spare accommodation.
Routes, transport and access
Little Petra lodging and Petra’s main visitor entrance are different destinations. Obtain the camp’s official meeting point and transfer terms before planning a morning visit. No live travel time was measured. If considering a guided approach from another entrance, obtain current site approval rather than assuming the camp can authorize it.
Free camping, season and equipment
No current authorized free overnight pitch with documented stay limits was verified for this selected route. Public access, a trail, a quiet beach or a picnic clearing does not establish camping permission. Ask the actual land manager before bringing your own equipment, and use confirmed accommodation if a lawful pitch cannot be established.
Choose an outdoor plan using current security instructions, forecast, daylight, heat and overnight temperatures. Carry suitable clothing, drinking water, sun protection, navigation and a first-aid kit for the actual activity. Canyon access requires its own weather and operator assessment; accommodation availability does not make a water trail safe or open.
