This East Coast Park camping guide helps you plan an outdoor visit in Singapore. Choose East Coast Park for a managed coastal tent stay, provided your applicant meets the permit requirements. The free government permit and an optional paid tent setup are different products.
Nature and outdoor places
The waterfront paths suit a relaxed walk or cycle before returning to camp. Keep a short first-day route instead of trying to cover the entire park with luggage. The Cyclist Park is a recreation feature, not an additional camping pitch.
Authorized camping and free-pitch checks
NParks identifies camping in Area D, excluding Cyclist Park, and Area G. The permit is free, but applicants need a valid residential address and ID number in Singapore. Tents must be at least five metres apart. Toilets are listed for both areas. Check the official map for the precise camping boundary before setting up.
Paid stays and equipment costs
Go Glamping SG advertises its East Coast setup near D5, subject to permit availability. Its published 4 m tent packages are S$210 for two people and S$240 for four; 5 m tent packages are S$240, S$270 and S$300 for two, four and six respectively. Confirm the rental period, exact inclusions, deposit and dates directly. A paid setup does not waive NParks eligibility or permission.
Food and nearby dining
East Coast Lagoon Food Village provides a beachside hawker-food option documented by Singapore’s National Heritage Board. Plan the walk from your actual camping area rather than assuming it is beside every pitch. Check current stall hours and cleaning closures, and keep a ready-to-eat backup meal.
Museums, heritage and culture
The food village also offers a connection to Singapore’s hawker heritage. For a museum day, return to the city after packing camp rather than leaving a tent unattended for a long excursion. The general guide links the central nature-and-culture article.
Access and distances from camp
Area D has several nearby carparks; Area G has its own carpark. These are access points, not overnight vehicle pitches. Check notices: NParks reports selected site-investigation works along the park from late September 2026 into early 2027. Use the current map and access notices for your booked area.
Rules that affect your stay
NParks prohibits open fires here, including camping stoves and portable grills. A barbecue pit requires its own booking. Do not bring a stove on the assumption that a camping permit authorizes cooking beside the tent.
Weather, equipment and final checks
Choose a date after checking the local forecast and the site’s current notices. Keep a plan for reaching proper shelter if the weather deteriorates. Bring rain protection, a headlamp, drinking water, insect protection and dry storage. Check whether bedding, washing facilities and food are actually supplied. Any shower, hookup or motorhome service not specifically confirmed above remains unverified. Measure travel time from your exact booked site or hotel before adding an attraction.
