Gorizia camping: choose your base
Kamp Soča: The operator page displayed “Camp is currently CLOSED” during this check. Use this as a future-season reference and obtain confirmed reopening dates. Choose another confirmed place to stay until the operator accepts your booking. The campsite has camping terraces above the Soča near the Big Troughs.
Camping prices and reservations
The published tariff, valid from December 1, 2025, lists low-season adults €14, a small tent under 6 m² €3, a car €2 and adult tourist tax €2 each nightly. Two adults with that tent and car total €37 before optional power (€4.50). This is a published price example, not proof that the site is open. Confirm the seasonal band and final quote. Check the operator’s information.
Before payment, confirm the dimensions of your tent or vehicle, pitch access, the people included and cancellation conditions. Ask separately about drinking-water filling, waste disposal and electricity capacity. Facilities for prepared accommodation should not be assumed available to every touring pitch.
Nature and cultural visits
Make the Soča landscape the focus of a local outdoor day, using designated trails and safe viewing points. Cold, fast water and rocky banks require caution; arrange guided water activities with a suitable operator rather than assuming access from a campsite means safe independent swimming or paddling.
Kobarid Museum provides a cultural focus for a separate town excursion. The valley tourism board links it with the Kobarid Historical Trail; check the trail’s conditions, museum tickets and opening times before combining them. Official visitor information.
Where to eat
Topli val is listed by the Soča Valley tourism board at Trg svobode 1, Kobarid. Check the current menu, cuisine options and reservation arrangements. It is a separate Kobarid meal stop, not a restaurant included with the campsite. Dining information.
Distances and a realistic day plan
From the village of Soča area to Kobarid, broadly allow 35–45 km and 45–65 minutes each way as a planning estimate. Mountain-pass routes require separate weather and vehicle-suitability checks; ask the campsite which approach suits a trailer.
Keep the first day flexible for arrival and setting up. On the next day, choose one main outdoor outing and leave enough time for meals and the return journey. Check opening hours before adding a museum to the same day.
Free camping and overnight permissions
We did not verify an authorised free overnight location for this itinerary. Use a confirmed campsite or designated motorhome stop and follow its registration, fee and stay-limit rules. A quiet car park or riverbank does not establish permission to camp.
Season and equipment
Match travel dates to the campsite’s confirmed season. Spring and autumn may suit lower-level walks, while Alpine and underground visits need their own clothing and conditions checks. Carry rain protection, layers, sturdy footwear, water and a first-aid kit. Follow current fire restrictions and the host’s cooking rules.
