Sardinia camping rewards choosing one part of the island and exploring slowly. This guide focuses on Bari Sardo in Ogliastra, with pine shade, beaches and the Torre di Barì landscape.

Sardinia camping: nature and outdoor visits
Use existing beach approaches around Bari Sardo for gentle walks and time beside the sea. Avoid walking over vegetated dunes and check wind and swimming conditions. Keep a shorter route for hot days and take enough drinking water.
Established camping and published rates
Camping La Pineta, Bari Sardo, publishes 2026 prices. In low season, 1 April–29 May and 12 October–2 November, adults are €7 each, a tent up to 2×2 metres €5.50, car €1 and 6A power €4: €24.50 for two before tourist tax. Peak season, 18 July–6 September, brings the same combination to €41.50. Larger tents and vehicles have different charges. Hot showers are included; the operator lists a separate €1.50 tourist levy, whose application should be confirmed for your party. Verify pitch size, opening and booking conditions.
Free camping and permission
No specific free overnight campsite was verified for this itinerary. Use the established paid option above or confirm a designated alternative with its manager and local authorities. A beach, picnic spot, trailhead or ordinary car park is not proof of camping permission. Check local signs, protected-area rules and vehicle restrictions before stopping.
Culture and heritage
Visit the setting of Torre di Barì. Ask locally about current interior access rather than assuming the tower is staffed throughout the day.
Where to eat
The La Pineta restaurant-pizzeria at the campsite in Bari Sardo offers Italian and regional dining. Check seasonal hours, the current menu and reservations.
Practical Sardinia camping information
Bari Sardo town to the tower coast is about 4 km; allow around 10 minutes by car, plus parking and walking. Ask reception for the exact route from your pitch. May–June and September are useful touring windows, while ferries and summer pitches require advance planning. Bring windproof layers, sun protection and strong pegs.
A relaxed two-night plan
Arrive with enough daylight to check the pitch and facilities. Keep the first evening close to camp, then spend the full day on pine shade, coastal walks and tower heritage. Leave room for meals, weather changes and local transfers. Before departure, dispose of rubbish and wastewater in the proper facilities and confirm your next site’s arrival arrangements.
Source and tariff check: 16 October 2026. Published prices are reference checks, not live booking quotes or proof of availability. The quoted year and dates matter; do not carry a 2026 price into a later season. Confirm taxes, extras, services and the full amount directly with the operator. Distances and times are approximate planning estimates.
