Calabria camping can be a relaxed mix of pine shade, Ionian beach time and archaeological visits. Roccelletta di Borgia provides a useful base for this itinerary rather than a rushed tour of the whole region.

Calabria camping: nature and outdoor visits
Camping Calabrisella describes its setting in the coastal pinewood between Catanzaro Lido and Squillace Lido. Use existing paths for an easy walk and follow beach and swimming notices. A short early-morning outing is more comfortable than an exposed midday walk.
Established camping and published rates
Camping Calabrisella publishes its 1 May–26 September 2026 season. In May–June, a standard pitch is €9 plus €8 per adult daily: €25 for two before tourist tax and extras, with a car free in that period. For 1–24 August, standard pitches with 3A power are €22 and adults €13 each: €48 before tax and any car charge. The page lists €1 tourist tax per eligible person, with exemptions. Pitches have a two-person minimum. Confirm vehicle suitability, sanitary facilities, power and reservation terms; summer car parking is separately charged and limited.
Free camping and permission
No specific free overnight campsite was verified for this itinerary. Use the established paid option above or confirm a designated alternative with its manager and local authorities. A beach, picnic spot, trailhead or ordinary car park is not proof of camping permission. Check local signs, protected-area rules and vehicle restrictions before stopping.
Culture and heritage
Explore the Scolacium Archaeological Park in Roccelletta. Allow a half-day, check opening hours and carry water for its outdoor areas.
Where to eat
The Calabrisella restaurant-pizzeria serves traditional dishes and pizza, with takeaway advertised. It is on the camping property in Roccelletta; check seasonal service and dietary requirements.
Practical Calabria camping information
The campsite and Scolacium are in the same Roccelletta area, but confirm the exact gate-to-gate route; allow a short local transfer rather than assuming direct pedestrian access. May–June and September suit a quieter beach stay. Bring sun protection, insect repellent and a safe electrical connection for your pitch.
A relaxed two-night plan
Arrive with enough daylight to check the pitch and facilities. Keep the first evening close to camp, then spend the full day on Ionian beaches and archaeology. Leave room for meals, weather changes and local transfers. Before departure, dispose of rubbish and wastewater in the proper facilities and confirm your next site’s arrival arrangements.
Source and tariff check: 16 October 2026. Published prices are reference checks, not live booking quotes or proof of availability. The quoted year and dates matter; do not carry a 2026 price into a later season. Confirm taxes, extras, services and the full amount directly with the operator. Distances and times are approximate planning estimates.
