This Czechia camping guide connects all 14 regions, including Prague, with practical overnight bases and ideas for nature, food and culture. Choose one area for a slower stay or link several regional guides into a longer trip. Research and published campsite tariffs were checked on 16 October 2026; availability and opening dates still require confirmation.
Czechia camping guide: regional directory
The Czech Statistical Office identifies 14 regions. Use the grid below to choose your next destination. Every regional guide links back here.

Sandstone scenery, current trail notices and Děčín Castle.
Choose a landscape and a realistic pace
For a waterside stay, start with South Bohemia, Karlovy Vary, Plzeň or Zlín. For wooded walking bases, compare Liberec, Vysočina, Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian Region. South Moravia combines a Jedovnice base with the Moravian Karst. Prague offers a city-focused alternative, while Central Bohemia provides nearby countryside. The Hradec Králové and Pardubice guides suit a mix of local walks and cultural visits.
Plan two or three nights at a base when you want a full outdoor day and a separate town visit. Treat this as an itinerary suggestion, not a promise about driving time. Calculate each transfer from the campsite’s actual entrance and check parking before entering a historic centre with a larger vehicle.
Authorized campsites and verified price examples
All amounts below are Czech koruna (CZK) per night. These examples have different inclusions and should not be treated as a like-for-like price ranking. Follow each regional article to the operator’s tariff and the detailed calculation.
| Base | Two-adult example | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Autokemp Semín | CZK 380 | Tent, car and adult fees; electricity extra. |
| Kemp Vyskytná | CZK 400 | Small tent, car and adult taxes; electricity extra. |
| Kemp Olšovec | CZK 550 | Small tent, car and adult taxes; power and showers extra. |
| Autokemp Dřenice | CZK 570 | May, June or September pitch example; electricity and showers included. |
| Camping Lipno Modřín | CZK 670 | Unpowered D area, off-season Sunday–Wednesday, specified holidays excluded. |
Ask for the complete total for your dates, people, tent or vehicle size, power and pets. Local tax exemptions and single-night charges can change the calculation. Most cited tables identify 2026 explicitly; the Keramika table was undated when checked. A year-long tariff heading does not establish year-round camping operation. Several bases advertise a May–September season.
Free camping and protected nature
No specific free authorized overnight location has been verified for these itineraries. Use the named operators or obtain clear permission from the responsible authority and landowner. Do not infer overnight permission from a lake shore, forest track or daytime parking area. Before visiting Bohemian Switzerland, check the national park’s current visitor notices; closures and fire-related damage can affect routes. Follow signs on the day.
Restaurants and cultural stops
Each regional article names a food stop and a cultural visit. Examples include U Fleků in Prague, Gril Modřín at Lipno, DAMA at Dřenice and Hanácká restaurace EXPEDICE in Šternberk. Check their linked menus and seasonal hours. Pair meals with visits such as Vyšehrad, Vyšší Brod monastery, the North Bohemian Museum or Šternberk Castle, using the regional guide for access details.
Practical season, travel and equipment
Late spring to early autumn is a useful starting window for combining campsite services and outdoor days, subject to each operator’s confirmed opening. Reserve popular summer dates ahead. Shoulder-season evenings can be cold and daylight shorter, so carry waterproofs, warm bedding, a torch, suitable walking shoes and offline maps. Add cycle or paddling equipment only for activities you have planned and checked.
Distances and driving times within the regional guides are clearly marked planning estimates. Confirm the route, final campsite approach and transport schedules before departure. For broader destination ideas, consult VisitCzechia’s destination directory. Use designated waste and wastewater facilities and leave protected habitats undisturbed.
