La Rioja Camping Guide: Forests, Waterfalls & Village Routes

La Rioja camping guide. La Rioja is one community and one province. Choose Villoslada de Cameros for Sierra de Cebollera’s forests, rivers and mountain walks; select a separate Rioja Alta or Logroño base for heritage and wine-country outings. No marine beach is part of this inland route.

Plan your wider route with our Spain camping guide. This guide covers the region by province. Camping permissions, seasonal access and booking conditions differ by destination.

La Rioja

Natural places and towns: Villoslada and Lumbreras provide access to Sierra de Cebollera’s pine and beech woods. The Puente Ra waterfall route is a named walking option; flow and footing vary with weather. The Iregua valley and higher mountain routes require different levels of preparation. San Millán and the Sierra de la Demanda make a separate western itinerary.

Camping inside the destination: Camping Los Cameros is officially listed inside the Sierra de Cebollera area beside the Iregua. Camp within the facility’s managed boundaries; its unmarked camping zone is not permission for unrestricted camping elsewhere in the park.

Nearby free camping: No unrestricted, free public tent campsite was verified for this itinerary. A picnic area or beach car park is not permission to camp. Ask the municipality and protected-area office about authorized sites, permits and maximum stay before choosing a free overnight stop.

Paid camping: Camping Los Cameros labels its rates 2026 and VAT-inclusive, but a complete numerical pitch total could not be extracted. Ask for your tent/car, caravan or motorhome package, occupancy and electricity. The operator classifies campervans up to 5.5 m as car-bed units; confirm the classification for larger vehicles. Services include hot showers, drinking-water and chemical-WC facilities and camping advice. Camping Bañares is another base near Santo Domingo de la Calzada; request current prices and pitch acceptance separately.

Restaurants: Los Cameros’ café with terrace provides on-site refreshments; confirm whether full meals are served. Jazz Restaurant at Posada Hoyos de Iregua is a village dining option in Villoslada; check its current cuisine, menu and reservation times.

Museums and cultural stops: Visit Villoslada’s park interpretation centre and village. The monasteries of San Millán, Santo Domingo’s historic centre and Logroño’s Museum of La Rioja belong to separate heritage outings.

Practical information: Late spring through early autumn generally suits forest camping; shoulder seasons can bring cold nights and wet trails. The operator places Villoslada 3.4 km away, approximately 5–10 minutes by car. The official tourism listing places Logroño around 50 km north; allow roughly 50–60 minutes plus parking. Confirm the waterfall trailhead and current route conditions. Bring warm layers, waterproof footwear, an insulated pad, water and offline maps.
